Geo the Dolphin | Plastic Nature XV

Year:

2nd Prize Sanya Tropical City International Art Competition 2025
Exhibited at JustMad, Contemporary Art Fair, March 2025, Madrid
Featured in Casual Magazine Madrid Edition
A 70x70cm pink Amazon river dolphin—the boto—transforms into a floating metallic creature, suspended in the murky waters of its natural habitat. The central figure stands out in vibrant pink tones against the lush green of the Amazon rainforest.

The saturated colors of the surroundings invite you to experience the jungle: the sound of the water, the tropical humidity, that overflowing life that pulsates in every corner. I wanted the work not only to decorate a space, but to transform it. A permanent invitation to pause, breathe, and remember the wild beauty that still exists.

And also a reflection. The piece is part of "Plastic Nature," my series that explores how plastic has invaded even the most remote ecosystems—including the Amazon—transforming the organic into something artificial, shiny, and permanent.

A celebration of what still remains and a question of how much longer it will remain untouched.

Technique: Acrylic on linen
Dimensions: 70 × 70 cm
Presentation: Stretched canvas, ready to hang. Framing available upon request.
Part of PLASTIC NATURE Solo Exhibition, May 2024, Madrid
