Plastic Nature
Between the organic and the artificial
Bright, saturated environments where imaginary animals transformed into helium balloons inhabit realistic landscapes. A visual reflection on the environmental crisis: plastic shouldn't be the only animal inhabiting our lagoons.

About the Venus Awaits series
Venus Awaits: beauty, desire and danger Venus Awaits takes its name from Venus, goddess of love and beauty, and draws on the scenes of Jean-Honoré Fragonard. Rococo — the artistic language that developed in eighteenth-century France — turned idyllic gardens, delicate colors and amorous encounters into settings for desire and seduction. In this series, carnivorous plants take the place traditionally reserved for the female figure. Their beauty still draws the eye, but it carries a warning too: what seduces can also watch, wait, and ultimately devour. Each piece is a unique work, hand-painted in acrylic on Belgian linen, signed and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Available paintings can be purchased directly from the studio of contemporary Spanish artist Sofía Cristina Jiménez, with insured shipping to Spain and Europe. If you're looking for botanical art with a different perspective, carnivorous plants painted like you've never seen them before, or simply an original painting you won't find in any decor store, this is the place.
